“Broadly speaking, the role of higher education is through the three responsibilities of Higher Education, is very wide and varied that can contribute to the SDGs Indonesian universities,” said Prof. Armida.

Higher education should not be fully seen as a continuation of secondary education, but it also contains other dimensions associated with the excellence of the nation, namely the development of science, scientific discovery and technological innovation.
In his presentation, Prof. Armida was revealed nine proposed areas of focus related SDGs Indonesia. The proposal is an end to poverty and inequality in all its forms, secondary education universal quality and mastery of science and technology and innovation, health care sustainable universal, inclusive growth and decent employment opportunities, basic infrastructure and connectivity, and urban sustainable, combat changes climate and its impact, conservation and sustainable use of natural resources, biodiversity and marine resources, as well as instiitusi and good governance.
In addition, to accelerate economic growth and distribution in improving the welfare of society, the necessary stability of the macro economy. Prof. Armida called it a “sufficient condition” (Necessary).
More than that, it is necessary also “necessary condition” (sufficient condition) to reach the target SDGs. Terms need to include socialization massive and grounded on some targets SDGs specific (adjust on the target group intended), active participation and leadership of Local Government up to the level closest to the people, community development, the implementation of incentives and disincentives, as well as cooperation with various stakeholders.
Prof. Armida also mentioned the need for global cooperation to accelerate the achievement of SDGs. Global cooperation is carried out not only related to financing facilities, but also for technology transfer, capacity building, and knowledge sharing.

On the occasion, Chairman Prof. AIPI Sangkot Marzuki said that college inauguration is a tradition AIPI undertaken by new members. Inaugural lecture held at the college where new members of the shelter.
